Welcome to the web page for the Lil’ Red Rosenwald School. Built in 1928, the school educated African American children in the decades before desegregation. Now it will serve as a community center for Drew and the surrounding area. We are working to restore this important historic building and help to make the dream a reality. On this site you will find a history of the school and our current efforts to restore it. You will also find out about ongoing programs in the community and learn how you can support all these endeavors. Thank you for visiting the Lil’ Red website and helping us renew the hope of our community.

NEWS UPDATE: In December 2006 the Mississippi Department of Archives and History awarded us a Community Heritage Grant for $146,000, for restoration of the building interior.
